US hegemony in West Asia is over: Army chief

TEHRAN, Nov. 15 (MNA) – Commander of Iran’s Army Major General Seyed Abdolrahim Mousavi said on Thu. the United States’ hegemony in West Asia has come to an end, and its mischievous goals in the region will fail to be realized.

Noting that “today, the enemies of the Islamic Republic are far weaker than before,” General Mousavi said, the US, under Donald Trump’s presidency, has become isolated in the international arena.

“Trump’s actions have also revealed the true image of the US' fake claims on defending human rights,” he added.

The army chief referred to Trump’s warmongering in the region, saying, the US is, as it has always been, trying to exert influence on the Middle East’s developments with the help of its regional allies.

“However, today, we can strongly say that the US’ hegemony and dominance on West Asia is over,” he said.

The official called for overall solidarity against such evil measures, saying that “strengthening the defensive power under the visions of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and integrity of the armed forces” are the key to counter the plights of the US against the Islamic Republic.

The Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) are united to fight against the enemies and “we will not let them reach their ominous goals,” General Mousavi said.
